We’re proud to introduce the 20 ambitious early-stage businesses joining our Momentum Incubator for 2025 – a year-long journey designed to transform bold ideas into impactful ventures.
Open to current University of Sussex students and recent graduates, the Momentum Incubator Programme offers 12 months of tailored masterclasses and expert mentoring, followed by an additional year of free membership in our vibrant business community. Led by Peter Lane (Head of University Services) and Frank Hyde (Project Coordinator), and supported by our in-house business consultancy team, Momentum is all about turning potential into progress.

AI-driven custom software development services, built by values-driven developers committed to democratising intelligent technology across education, recruitment, innovation, and long term economic growth through new ventures & future ready organisations.
Shivan Ananthanathan: Artiste
A digital ecommerce and connection platform revolutionising the way visual artists can be supported and discovered, benefitting customers by providing the highest quality art for the most affordable prices.
Sophie Buck: Autisticulture
A magazine and content creation company celebrating neurodiversity, now preparing to publish a second issue. Content is created for and by people with autism and other types of neurodivergence.
Emma Hynes: BeComms
A circular economy & communications consultancy founded on the principles of Doughnut Economics. We support organisations to become more sustainable, and tell their story without greenwashing.
Tanmay Sharma & Vishnuvardhan Yisanaka: BizTribe
A community engagement platform connecting individuals with shared interests while supporting local businesses. We use gamified social tasks, such as making purchases from local vendors or joining community events to reward users with exclusive incentives.
Husain Alogaily: Compost-It
A food waste recycling organisation, redirecting waste away from landfill, towards local composters and anaerobic digestion facilities. Incoming legislation will obligate all businesses to recycle their food-waste, we help them overcome major pain points.
Harsh Sancheti, Siddhi Satav & Ritu Mashalkar: Green2B
A B2B marketplace making it easy for companies to source eco-friendly products in bulk. We connect verified sustainable suppliers with businesses, helping them meet their ESG goals while simplifying procurement.
Felix Craven: Jazzcat
A platform enabling users to find jazz gigs, festivals, jams, and venues near them. When full functionality is achieved, it will be the world’s first central place for all things jazz (ticketing, social network, etc). We are aiming for a widespread global resurgence of the genre!
Jacqueline Carhoun: Opioid Education App
A phone application to support families impacted by opioid addiction. The application will be co-produced using research techniques and with those who are directly impacted.
Christopher El-Nahhas: Ostopack
A medical bag designed for stoma nurses to organise and transport stoma products around the hospital, leading to an easier workflow that allows them to focus more on the quality care they wish to provide, and work confidently, ultimately reducing anxiety and stress.
Gladys Mwamba: Plastic Pound
Formalising the plastic recycling value chain at the Zambia–DRC border. We provide premium prices, digital payments, and benefits such as health coverage & financial inclusion to marginalized waste collectors, while supplying bulk plastic waste to recycling companies.
Nikita Dumitriuc & Dragos Popa: Plato AI
AI-powered personalised study assistant that integrates with students learning materials to offer 24/7 tailored answers to academic questions, improving the access to support students need while easing academic staff workload.
Shunichiro Ise & Lucas Miranda: Pontado
Translator from sign language into verbal language and vice versa, leveraging NLP technology.
Fraser Randall: ReCycle
Producing bicycles made from recycled plastics, which will be used in a low-cost rental bike scheme. ReCycle seeks to target transport solutions, social and health benefits, and waste management systems with one innovative scheme.
Meral Alizada: Results of Kindness
A consultancy firm engineering human-centered workplaces through ethical leadership and systemised kindness. Empowering organisations to embed emotional intelligence, ethical decision-making, and transformative leadership into their core operations.
Rosa Rafanomezana: SYNC
A community based, accessible education space around menstrual cycle wellbeing. Advocating for Systemic change, answering (Y) why we need to take action, Now, while fostering a strong Community.
Serah Jessica Mehendran: TEAch
An app that connects qualified teachers to students who cannot afford private tutoring in rural, tea plantation regions of Sri Lanka. Built-in support for need-based scholarships, enabling underprivileged students to receive free tutoring from volunteer educators.
PJ Morrill: UnEarth
A tool which enables consumers to see the environmental impacts of products via barcode scan. It uses a combination of existing technology and sustainability analysis to provide insight for consumers so they can make informed decisions in what they purchase & use.
Olivier Hinds: Unified Projects
A software development consultancy which provides affordable, bespoke Platform, Website & SaaS development to start-ups, entrepreneurs & SME’s. We also sell licenses to our own software (currently consisting of our AI EdTech platform).
Jason Cresswell: Veriva
