Sussex Innovation is a business incubator and office space provider based in Brighton, East Sussex, located on the University of Sussex campus in Falmer. Our innovation hub is just a 10-minute drive from Brighton city centre, and conveniently located near other East Sussex towns including Lewes, Haywards Heath, and Uckfield.
Here at Sussex Innovation our aim is to help businesses that are ambitious to change the way things are done! We have a consultancy team equipped to help your businesses at any stage, with a particular interest in scale-ups with a focus on social, environmental or economic impact, or a desire to connect with cutting edge academic thought.
Our members will often fall under one of the following categories:

• Digital agencies developing websites, applications or software

Depending on demand, there is sometimes a waiting list for the right tenancy space at our centre, but we can often find a way to accommodate you while waiting for your perfect office to become available. We are always looking for new businesses that will be a good fit for our exclusive community. Our Community and Coworking memberships involve a short application process, and if we think you’ll benefit from joining Sussex Innovation we ensure to work out a way to make it happen.
Sussex Innovation offers fully-serviced office space, private day offices, and co-working facilities at our Brighton site on the University of Sussex campus. Designed for startups, scale-ups and small businesses, our flexible office and membership packages suit teams of 1 to 50 people, from one day a week to full-time.
We know the challenges of growing a small business, so we strive to be as flexible as possible to your needs. Legal arrangements are covered by a licence for an initial period of two years with a 3-month minimum stay. Three months’ standard notice or 1-3 months’ minimum notice can be given by either party.
Tenants have 24/7 access, as do all co-working members with a dedicated desk. All other members have access during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5.30pm). Members using the day office plan will only have access on their allotted days.
We have a large on-site car park, with several electronic charging stations and plenty of bike storage. A car parking space is allocated to your business for every 200 square feet of office space taken, and parking is free to all residents and visitors using our car park. Our location is well-connected by public transport, with Falmer train station, Brighton station, regular bus routes, and cycle paths providing easy access to and from Brighton and the surrounding areas.
Sussex Innovation supports entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses from across Brighton & Hove, Lewes, Seaford, Newhaven, Haywards Heath, Uckfield, Burgess Hill, and surrounding areas. Our hub is based at the University of Sussex in Falmer, ideally located between Brighton and Lewes, with excellent transport links and free on-site parking. Many members from across Sussex use our workspace, attend events, or access business advice both in person and online.
The Centre has its own cafe – The Sussex Innovation Cafe – which is open each working day between the hours of 8.30 am and 3:30 pm serving a wide selection of tasty hot and cold food prepared fresh by Chef Ollie every day. There are also a range of places to eat and shop for food on campus within a few minutes’ walk.
Sussex Innovation hosts a range of events, workshops and networking sessions for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and individuals from Brighton & Hove, Lewes, Seaford, Newhaven, Haywards Heath, Uckfield, Burgess Hill and surrounding areas. Attendees include local startups, scale-ups, SMEs, and anyone interested in mentoring, funding advice, and collaboration opportunities.

Members receive priority and discounted booking for all our facilities, but we also welcome other visitors to our space.
