The ‘Send me a postcard’ Breakfast
Mathew Prior had a decision to make. Should he carry on with his accountancy training or chuck it in to become a holiday rep? After many a sleepless night, he ditched the traineeship and spent the next few years working in ski resorts in the winter and the Spanish Costas in the summer. And while it may have seemed a reckless decision at the time, it has led to a hugely successful career in the travel industry.
After a few years, an MBA and a stab at the tech start-up world, he rejoined First Choice Holidays and went on to lead many of their specialist travel businesses. He later took over as MD of Crystal Ski, the largest ski tour operator in the UK, and went on to run other travel businesses including Sunsail.
Today, Mathew is CEO of TrustedHousesitters, the global pet care travel exchange. Despite Covid, he has overseen a doubling of the membership and its expansion into the USA.
Join us at our February breakfast to hear Mathew talk about his career, TrustedHousesitters’ growth and how it has changed over the last few years. He’ll also explain how they’ve transitioned to fully remote working, and the impact it’s had on the business and culture.
