Sussex Innovation staff and member businesses turned out in glorious sunshine this weekend, to complete their fundraising efforts for the Sussex Beacon at Sunday’s Brighton Half Marathon.

Six teams of 4 people each ran just over 5km of the 13.1 mile course to raise money for the charity, which provides specialist care and support for people living with and affected by HIV. As well as three sets of runners representing the Sussex Innovation management team – Team Mike, Team Pete and Team Jane – two teams from Ambiental and one from Race Nation joined in with the spirit of fundraising and competition.

Altogether the six teams have raised more than £2,500 for the Sussex Beacon. The total included more than £2,100 in sponsorships, as well as the proceeds from two fundraising events held at the Centre; the Great SINC Bake Off and Valentine’s Day Raffle. If you forgot to sponsor any of the teams and still want to show your support, it’s still possible to make a donation via the Race Nation event page.

The full results of the Sussex Beacon Corporate Relay are available to view here, but just for bragging rights within the Centre, the final times were as follows:

1st – Ambiental Technical Solutions (finishing time 1hr 44:39)

2nd – Team Jane (+2:04)

3rd – Ambiental Environmental Assessment (+4:21)

4th – Race Nation (+11:00)
